Disney’s Aladdin JR. Children’s Enrichment Summer Camp is taking place at Cedartown Performing Arts Center from July 18th-22nd, 25th-29th with a public performance on July 29th at 7:00 PM. The spectacular 60-minute musical, designed for young performers, is based on the 1992 Disney film and the 2014 Broadway adaptation. The 7th annual summer camp is being directed by McCall Pirkle, the Children’s Enrichment Director for the performing arts center.
“We’re excited to continue our work in enriching lives through the arts this summer. McCall and the entire team pour their hearts and souls into making this camp come to life year after year.” Oscar Guzman, the Executive Director of the Cedartown Performing Arts Center, also mentioned Moana Jr. was a big year thanks to the Georgia Council for the Arts grant they received but have big plans to match that energy this year.
Ring bells! Bang the drums! Are you gonna love this exciting stage adaptation of the legendary tale of the lovable thief with the heart of gold! Join Aladdin, Jasmine, and the fast-talking, wisecracking Genie as they discover mystical caves, take magic carpet rides, and outwit the evil sorcerer, Jafar. Adapted especially for young performers, this musical includes favorite Alan Menken songs such as “Friend Like Me,” “A Whole New World,” and “Prince Ali,” as well as wonderful new songs added for the Broadway production. With new, colorful characters and nonstop adventure, Aladdin JR. is sure to be a crowd-pleaser for all ages!
